Educational Programs

The Loveland Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to our businesses and residents. We believe that through knowledge and strong leadership our community and business owners will have the tools they need to make the best choices in our ever-changing world. We strive to encourage community involvement, grow civic leaders, and provide a vast array of educational seminars addressing business, community, and personal development issues.

Leadership Loveland

Created in 1986, Leadership Loveland is one of the Loveland Chamber's most valuable, educational and prestigious programs. It is a two-year, hands-on course designed to develop emerging community leaders to encourage high quality, local leadership in the community. It is an incredibly effective way to learn about the Loveland community, its government, history, school district, the arts, and more. Taught in partnership with businesses, civic and community leaders, and professionals in their fields -- the learning style, class size, and the opportunity to build lasting friendships and connections, makes this educational experience unique, fun and fulfilling.

The program addresses these basic goals:

  • To identify, motivate and develop community leaders.
  • To assist future leaders in identifying issues and problems facing the community, and to develop possible solutions.
  • To provide program participants opportunities to meet current leaders and encourage greater community involvement.

The volunteer time and support of many local business people, community leaders and professionals help make this program a success. Therefore, participation in Leadership Loveland must come with commitment. Attendance is mandatory, and more than two absences will be grounds for dismissal.

Applicants must have the support and commitment of their employers. In fact, many companies take this opportunity to develop leaders within their organizations. Class sessions are usually one full day each month. Occasionally, some additional hours may be required.

Up to 25 students are selected per class annually through an application process. Candidates who demonstrate potential leadership skills, an interest in community affairs and a commitment to complete the program will be considered. A conscientious effort is be made to select participants representing a cross section of the Loveland community. Leadership Loveland graduates have gone on to become active leaders within the community.
