The voters of Loveland's Ward 1 elected Donna Rice to Loveland's City Council in the March 2 Special Election. We're proud to have endorsed Donna Rice in her bid for City Council. We would also like to thank all of the candidates for their commitment to our community and willingness to give their time in order to serve Loveland.

As the driving force of business, the Loveland Chamber of Commerce serves a critical role for local businesses as their advocate and representative on local policy issues. The Chamber's commitment to spearhead local policy issues affecting the unique interests of business and favorably influence the actions of local government led to the decision of the Chamber endorsing Donna Rice for city council Ward 1 in the city’s special election, held March 2, 2010.

This unanimous decision was made by the Chamber and its Board of Directors following the recommendation from the Loveland Chamber’s Local Legislative Affairs Committee (LLAC), which drove an extensive information review and interview process with three of the four city council Ward 1 candidates. The Loveland Chamber Board of Directors endorses Rice based on several factors such as her extensive experience as a former educator, attorney, state real estate commissioner, etc.; for her thoughtful and well-spoken nature, demonstrated through her written and oral interview answers; and most importantly, because Rice was the candidate who best demonstrated a clear understanding of the importance of good jobs and sound economics to the overall health of the Loveland community.
